ID.7 Windshield Wiper Stalk Light Issue

So I just noticed that the windscreen wiper/indicator stalk on my ID.7 isn't lighting up, but all the other controls (like the forward/reverse stalk and steering wheel buttons) are glowing just fine.

Is this how the ID.7 is supposed to be, or is there something wrong with my car? Anyone else had this happen?

You’re not alone in wondering about this weirdness! I had the same thought when I first got my ID.7, but after asking around, I found out the wiper stalk doesn’t light up by design. This is actually a common observation with the ID.7. VW didn’t include backlighting on the wiper stalk, so what you’re seeing isn’t a fault. It does seem strange since so many other controls are backlit, but apparently, it’s intentional. If you’re worried it might be a fault, it doesn’t hurt to confirm with your local service center.
