Hey all, so I’ve been trying to figure out how to turn off the rear climate control in my car manually of course. I have two child seats installed using the seatbelts, so the car assumes the back seats are occupied even though no one is sitting there. Is there a way to disable it?

I ran into the same thing with my ID.7. Turns out, you can go into the climate settings on the center screen, find the 'Rear' section, and switch off the rear air entirely. Worked like a charm for me and kept the backseat nice and quiet.

Ugh, those automatic systems can be a pain. I've found that sometmes there are hidden settings or override options in the menu. Have you thorouughly checked your car's manual? There might be a specific sequence or button combination to disable the rear climate control. I've learned that car manuals can be surprisingly helpful (sometimes)

That's a weird one! I've been wondering about the specific logic behind these systems. I'd definitly hit up a car forum or subreddit specific to your car model. Someone's bound to have run into this before. Maybe even post pictures of your climate control settings, someone might spot something you're missing. And don't be afraid to ask your dealership's service department directly. They might have a known workaround or a software update
