I'm dealing with a bit of a headache with my new ID.7 Tourer. The efficiency monitor on the dash and HUD keeps showing a blank mi/kWh – it's totally not displaying anything. I've messed around with different settings, but no luck.

Anyone else had this happen or have any idea? Super annoying not being able to track energy use!

I had the same issue with my ID.4 where the efficiency monitor wouldn’t display anything. A quick system reset fixed it for me, but I did have to check for updates first.

I have read that some users could make the display work again after a few drive cycles. I hope this works for you, too.
In my case, it came back after one night. I still don't know what it was. I wanted to contact the dealership the next day, but seeing the issue was gone, I didn't call them anymore.

Yeah, you should definitely have a mechanic look at it. There could be something else going on that you're not aware of.

Have you tried rebooting the system or doing a hard reset? Sometimes that clears things up. If that doesn't work and you've already tried adjustng the settings, I'd reach out to VW support. They might know of a fix or need to do a software update.

This might just need a quick reboot or something. Have you tried it?
