VW App Profile Limitations

Okay, so I’m running into some weirdness with the VW app and the whole multiple user profile thing. I’ve got no problem controlling the climate remotely; but for some reason, my wife’s profile is kind of stuck in the dark ages. She can’t use the app remotely at all.

Anyone else dealing with this? Like, is there some secret setting I’m missing to get remote climate control working for both of us?

Sometimes the app just gets a little lazy and needs a quick refresh or re-login to sync up properly. Tell your wife to log out and then back in - should do the trick!

Hmm I’ll give that a try. I was kinda hoping it was something simple like that - just a glitchy sync issue. It’s weird though, everything else on her profile works fine, it’s just the remote control stuff acting up.

A re-syncing should work or you can check her app settings for permissions related to remote control

Hey, it seems like there could be a profile or permissions issue with the VW app on your partner's phone. Sometimes, the app restricts certain features based on the profile that's logged in or the permissions that have been set. Hope this helps!

I've heard a lot of people complaining about the VW app. Sounds like they kinda forgot to actually finish developing it. The We Connect app works most of the time, so it might be worth a try.

Is her profile linked to the car's primary account properly? I've seen issues where people add a profile but forget to link it correctly. Double-check that her VW account is linked to the car's main account and that she has the necessary permmissions. I've found that sometimes the simplest things are overlooked.

App weirdness? Ugh, I hate that. I've been wondering about the reliablity of car apps. Log out/in, check permissions, and hit up a VW forum. It's probably just a glitch
